About Us
Majority of deaths due to pregnancy-related causes are preventable, Walda aims to reduce these deaths in communities with little or no access to obstetric care.
Our Story
“Born in Sudan during a time of war but fortunate enough to escape and seek refuge in foreign countries (Ethiopia, Kenya and the United States), my goal in life has been to return and give back.”
When the opportunity presented to pick a topic for a PhD thesis, I chose something that would be impactful to the region I originate from and the journey led to maternal mortality.
My PhD thesis gradually developed into an NGO mission. The gravity of the problem is severe and active solutions are needed to reduce preventable maternal deaths due to pregnancy and childbirth.”
